Temporary Long-Term Care for Pets of People in Crisis:
Financial Assistance For Medical Care:
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) does not provide direct financial assistance to pet owners for veterinary or any other expenses, but they do have a page on their website where they offer suggestions for what you can do if you are having trouble
affording veterinary care.
Red Rover Medical Assistance:
To continue the application process:
1) Please have the veterinary clinic fax us the estimate for the cost of treatment ASAP. Our fax number is: 916-378-5098. Only with this estimate of charges can your application be considered complete.
2) Alert the clinic to expect a call from RedRover and give them permission to speak with a RedRover representative about your case.
3) If possible, please send a digital photo of pet to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the meantime, for other funding sources we suggest you view our list of other organizations that have assistance programs here:www.redrover.org/help
You can also view fundraising tips and general resources here:
Here are some specific links to try to get the online community involved:
We also suggest contacting local animal shelters and rescue organizations as they may have leads to low-cost clinics or may be able to help raise funding. Petfinder.com has a comprehensive list of rescue organizations from all over the country. Visit www.petfinder.com and click on “Shelters” at the top of the page. For a directory of veterinary clinics, visit www.veterinarians.com.
If funding is no longer needed, please let us know immediately as there are other urgent cases waiting. We are usually able to process your application within one business day after receipt of the faxed estimate. If you have not heard from us within this amount of time after you think the fax has been sent, please email us to confirm that the fax was received.
